For a Better Life in Rakitovo Municipality, Bulgaria

Rakitovo Municipality is a beneficiary of the project "For a Better Life in Rakitovo Municipality" BG05M9OP001-2.018-0008-2014BG05M2OP001-C01.

The project is focused on the social inclusion, poverty reduction and integration of the most marginalized communities with a focus on Roma in the municipality. The project is implemented with the financial support of the Operational Program for Human Resources Development, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund and the Operational Program "Science and Education for Intelligent Growth", co-financed by the European Union, through European Structural and Investment Funds.

Part of the activities is the creation of an interactive platform "Colors" for the purposes of which the Bulgarian and Roma traditions, life and culture of the region will be searched, researched, restored and preserved, through the forms of contemporary art and culture.

The interactive platform will directly help to overcome the negative stereotypes based on ethnic origin and cultural identity. Another major activity is raising awareness of the social and health rights of marginalized groups by conducting information campaigns.

Promoting family planning changing practices that have a negative impact on the social inclusion of young people from marginalized communities, enhancing health culture. Support is provided to children and students from the ethnic minorities in the municipality of Rakitovo in the field of education and work with their parents to increase the interest in education - family support of their children in kindergartens and beyond to achieve better results.
