Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) in Applied Cybersecurity (CyberMACS)

CyberMACS is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJM) Programme in Applied Cybersecurity offered by a consortium of three highly ranked universities in Turkey (Kadir Has University), Germany (SRH Berlin University of Applied Sciences), and North Macedonia (Ss. Cyril and Methodius University) and prestigious associated partners from Industry and Academia.

CyberMACS is a full time 2-year joint European MSc programme (120 ECTS) focusing on “Applied Cybersecurity” to provide solid background within cybersecurity with focus on educating future cybersecurity experts to detect, prevent, mitigate, and manage cyber-attacks.

Students are trained on basics of cybersecurity in first year, then opportunities will be provided for specialization in the second year with compulsory following the winter/summer schools as well as compulsory internship.

CyberMACS hosts a joint Winter School, and which is a crucial component of our programme. Our Winter School and Summer focuses on a specific theme in cybersecurity, offering a platform for traditional and hands-on learning opportunities on different aspects of cybersecurity for our students. In these Schools, CyberMACS students can collaborate closely with industry experts and academics to tackle real-world cybersecurity challenges. The programme includes lectures, workshops, the Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, and a field trip. Partner Universities and different cybersecurity stakeholders take part as speakers and lecturers.

Besides specialization tracks, students will receive training in soft skills such as entrepreneurship and complete their degrees with master theses. During the two-year MSc studies, students will study at two of the consortium universities and graduate from both. Thereby receiving Our industry partners promote the future employability of CyberMACS students by offering internship, company visits, and contributions to the course contents.

Our program connects students with industry partners, providing valuable hands-on internship opportunities. This approach ensures that students gain practical experience and reinforces the applied nature of the curriculum, allowing them to develop real-world skills in cybersecurity.

CyberMACS is also one of the European top-quality Master Courses selected by the Erasmus+ Program (Erasmus Mundus).

Admission requirements

Admission to the CyberMACS programme is competitive, requiring applicants to hold a high-quality Bachelor’s degree in fields like computer science, engineering, IT, physics, or mathematics, though candidates with other degrees may be considered if they have strong backgrounds in relevant subjects (academic background includes studies in mathematics, programming, algorithms, data structures, databases, and computation theory).

The selection process has three stages: a screening phase to ensure all required documents are submitted, a detailed administrative, language, and academic validity check, and an interview stage where applicants are evaluated based on motivation, experience, and their ability to integrate into the programme. Language proficiency is also assessed through standardized tests like TOEFL and PTE.
