Accommodation
Dormitory Application: Students who would like to use UTP dormitories file their dormitory application forms in September. Dormitories will be used at full capacity to accommodate students’ needs.

General information: The student’s dormitories offer accommodation organized in double rooms. Single rooms are not available. The monthly price is about 100-120 EUR (approx. 200-240 BGN) which include the payments for utilities such as water, central heating and electricity. • Candidates from all countries are eligible to apply.

Admission of foreign students from non EU and EEA countries is ranked on the student's performance record.

1. The grades in Mathematics and another elective from their secondary education diploma must exceed 62% of the maximum grade, according to the grade assessment system of his/her home country.

2. Submission deadline is August 31th of the current academic year.

3. Candidate must certify that they are fluent in English by presenting a document of having a minimum B2 level of English language fluency according to the Common European Language Framework, issued by a high school in Bulgaria, or by another internationally recognized certificate or to pass an English language exam certifying CEFR B2 level equivalent or higher

Bachelor’s of Engineering in Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence


The Bachelor's degree in Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence in the professional field 5.13. General Engineering has a professional qualification of "Engineering Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intellect". The program is offered in full-time, part-time and distance learning form. Bachelors are trained according to the credit system, which allows quality of training, according to EU requirements and directives. The training is implemented through theoretical training and practice in the field of digital entrepreneurship and high technologies.

The training in the specialty aims to prepare highly qualified engineers to respond to the new challenges in the business environment, to be informed about new technologies and artificial intelligence. It is also a guiding motto in the development of curricula – training engineers based on national and international experience, introduction of good practices and ethical standards. The qualification characteristic is a basic document defining the development of the curriculum and curricula. It complies with the Law on Higher Education in the Republic of Bulgaria, the Ordinance on the State Requirements for Acquiring EQD of Bachelor, the National Classification of Professions, the National Qualification Framework of the Republic of Bulgaria (RMS Ns96/ 02.02.2012) and the regulations of the University of Telecommunications and Posts.

The Qualifications Characteristic has been developed on the basis of the principles, requirements and standards of the Council of Europe Resolutions on Academic Education, the competences set out in the European and Qualifications Characteristics, as well as the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), providing opportunities for mobility of students and teachers, practices and internships abroad and participation in inter-university seminars.

OBJECTIVES AND TASKS OF THE SPECIALITY

The aim of the specialty Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence for Bachelor's degree is to meet the European challenges in the development of business innovation, artificial intelligence and the practice of modern for the Fourth Industrial Revolution entrepreneurship. This requires constant monitoring of new trends, not only in business, but also in the advancement of technologies and their application in public and economic activity, which requires contemporaneous training, preparing qualified engineers in the field of digital entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence.

The main objective of the specialty "Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intellect" for the EQD of Bachelor is to create the necessary conditions for the professional training of engineers with specialized competences to be realized on the labor market to occupy jobs in the business sector, the IT sector, technical and managerial positions in high-tech enterprises, as well as to develop successful entrepreneurial business in the conditions of Industry 4.0. Through general theoretical and specialized engineering practice, graduates acquire practical knowledge, allowing them to quickly adapt to the new requirements in the field of high technology.

Training in Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence

Bachelor's degree is not only related to the training of highly qualified engineers, but there are additional goals for their motivation, creating lifelong learning habits, refreshing and gaining new knowledge in general engineering and in particular in the use and handling of artificial intelligence and digital transformation of business. For the training of students it is important to unleash their intellectual potential, to perceive digital culture, to have ethical and moral norms of behavior. These additional goals are related to creating work-responsible engineers capable of working and making decisions in a high-tech environment, adapting to digital changes and challenges.

  1. Acquisition of modern knowledge, skills and competences that are relevant to digital entrepreneurship and work with artificial intelligence.
  2. Creating conditions for an educational environment motivating students to generate up-to-date, up-to-date and reliable information on trends and business practices in working with artificial intelligence, in generating artificial intelligence and its development in an entrepreneurial environment.
  3. Stimulating the creative potential and abilities of students to solve case studies, engineering issues and practical problems requiring innovative ideas and adequate behavior in a high-tech environment.
  4. Encouraging communication and open dialogue, a prerequisite for students' research activity in the educational process, their scientific and artistic-creative activity.
  5. Conditions for personal expression, ignoring differences and discrimination of students in the learning process, equal start, regardless of gender, physiology, age, ethnicity, etc.
  6. Inter-university and international mobility of students, allowing them to compare with systems and good practices in the field of education, science and work and the generation of artificial intelligence - improvement of acquired knowledge, skills and professional experience.
  7. Students' access to information resources and halls with modern equipment, which allow a learning process with theoretical knowledge and work in a high-tech university and business environment.
  8. Domestic, administrative and career support for students on the campus of the University, providing scholarships, awards, certificates, etc.
QUALIFICATION STANDART

Structure and organization of the learning process

The teaching in the specialty "Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence" meets the European requirements for modern education, combined with tradition and practice of related universities in the country and abroad. The curriculum relies on the theory, experience and practice of digital entrepreneurship and the work and generation of artificial intelligence, borrowed and approbated by leading universities, on the business activities of high-tech companies developing and achieving market leadership positions. The specialty is distinguished by a unique profile combining digital entrepreneurship, various IT competencies and practical experience in high-tech industries and systems. The specialty focuses on the specifics of digital entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence, and teachers with qualifications and experience, proven specialists in the scientific field, are involved in the learning process. Students receive fundamental, specialized and practical knowledge in their professional training in an academic and real-world environment.

The educational content is block structured in semesters based on mandatory, elective and optional disciplines in the field of digital entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence in the field of business.

The compulsory block includes the disciplines that make up the theoretical preparation of the students and the acquired knowledge and competences in the field of general engineering. The subjects are structured in functional directions in the educational process, from specialty-related disciplines to disciplines with a narrow profile in the professional field, with a balance between them. An integral part of the curriculum are the accompanying and lecture courses seminary and practical modules.

Obligatory elective courses from the curriculumenrich the preparation of students in the specialty by providing them with specialized knowledge in digital entrepreneurship and the work and generation of artificial intelligence. They complement the fundamental block in the specialty and reveal the connection between the theoretical foundations of general engineering and the knowledge needed in the field of digital entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence. Obligatory elective courses profile the preparation of students in specialty.

Optional disciplines provide general knowledge to students according to their interests, goals and needs in the specialty. These disciplines in the curriculum play a supportive role in the educational process.

Students can participate in extracurricular work that increases interest in the specialty and the desire to express themselves in the professional field. Through formal and informal contacts for participation in projects of the University of Telecommunications and Posts, scientific societies, clubs, student scientific sessions, etc., students engage with the cause of the specialty, announcing their interests at national and institutional scientific forums, round tables, etc.

The methodology of teaching, training and assessment is in line with the European forms and directives for quality of education and lifelong learning. The specialty applies cutting-edge and effective forms of training, combining theory and practice of leading companies in the country and abroad. Emphasis is placed on modern, non-traditional, innovative and creative teaching methods, digital simulation of business and role-playing games, digital and practical case studies, discussions and presentations in a real online environment.

The training process is accompanied by lectures and on-line demonstrations, individual and group assignments, follow-up decisions, practical examples and visits to organizations. In order to stimulate student activity, practices focus on observation, information and knowledge, creativity, speaking and presentation skills in real and on-line environments, independent and team work, etc. The assessment of acquired knowledge and skills is carried out within the discipline (module, project, task) through a written exam (test or open magic) or on the basis of the forms listed above - course projects, multimedia presentations, videoconferencing, digital practices.

Project coursework is provided in the coursework, which students develop in fixed disciplines in the third and fourth semester of the curriculum and the opportunity to choose a coursework project of one of the specialized disciplines studied until the seventh semester. Students emphasize on a practical thesis and its defense on a subject specific to the specialty, which helps prepare them for conducting a pre-graduation internship, state examination or the development of a thesis.

Acquired knowledge, skills and competences

The training in the specialty "Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence" covers modern training aimed at creating engineers acquiring knowledge, skills and competences. Their framework is consistent with the national legislation and the European requirements for acquiring higher education, so that the training engineers are prepared for the new trends in the conditions of Industry 4.0 and upcoming Industry 5.0.

  • have theoretical foundations to interpret, analyse and evaluate events, situations and facts related to digital entrepreneurship and the operation and generation of artificial intelligence;

- have knowledge and competence in analysis, synthesis and engineering decision-making in the digital entrepreneurial environment;
- apply innovative methods and strategies in conditions of digitalization of the business;
- provide engineering solutions for change and improvement of business processes in the conditions of digital transformation.
MAIN RESULTS OF TRAINING

The training in the specialty Digital Education is carried out in accordance with the requirements for holding a bachelor's degree in accordance with the European directives for the training of students and occupation of positions under the unified classification of countries in the Republic of Bulgaria.

Engineers who have successfully obtained a diploma in the EQD of bachelor can realize themselves in the IT sector, develop digital entrepreneurships, be successful leaders in the digital organization and institutional environment, take positions in cybersecurity and protection, knowing the mechanisms of entrepreneurship in the digital environment and work with artificial intelligence.

STANDARD CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTING AN ORDER FOR RECOGNITION OF PREVIOUS TRAINING In the course of their studies (after successfully passed exams), students in the specialty may pass to another HEI or be accepted by one in the country and abroad as the disciplines in which they have been trained:
  • • are assimilated to indebtedness (or similar) according to the curriculum;
  • • shall be recognised as eligible if they correspond to the professional field;
  • • are considered optional if they correspond to those set out in the curriculum.
The conditions and requirements for admission and the procedure for recognition of prior education are regulated on the basis of national normative grounds and European directives, internal normative acts of the University, Rules for the structure and activity of the University, Ordinance for the educational activity in the University.

REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMATING

The entire course of study ends with the defense of a thesis or a complex state examination in the specialty. Students who have completed the full course of study "Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intellect" receive an educational-qualification degree in professional development 5.13 "General Engineering", professional qualification "Digital Entrepreneurship Engineer and Artificial Intellect" in accordance with the National Classification of Higher Education Areas and Professional Fields, and in accordance with the state requirements for acquiring higher education in the Republic of Bulgaria.

POSSIBILITIES FOR STUDENT REALISATION

Graduates of the specialty "Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence" can occupy professions and positions in the field of digital entrepreneurship, requires work with artificial intelligence, such as:
  • • engineers of various units and divisions in high-tech enterprises; successful entrepreneurs in a digital business environment;
  • expert engineers in digital entrepreneurship;
  • • engineers generating content based on artificial intelligence and working with artificial intelligence;
  • • analyst engineers and consultants in the digital business.
Students with scientific potential and creative tendencies are given the opportunity to participate in student sessions and forms with provided certificates, preparation for work with projects (research and under the EU OP), opportunities for scientific work with participation in conferences, scientific journals, collections, etc.

By studying the specialty Digital Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence, students can enroll additional courses and practical seminars in the field of their professional realization - General Engineering.

Graduates of the specialty "Digital pre-recruitment and high technologies" with EQD of "Bachelor":

Procedure for application and admission of foreign students to UTP:

1. Diploma for completed secondary education.

2. Appendix to the diploma for completed secondary education. In case the diploma is not accompanied by an assessment scale, from which the maximum grade is visible, the candidate must present an official document in which it is described.

3. A document issued by a competent authority certifying the right of the applicant to continue his / her education in the higher schools in the country where the secondary education was received. This document can be issued by the school where the secondary education was completed. It must contain the text: "The education obtained entitles the person to continue his / her education in higher education institutions in ... (country of the school).

4. Photocopy of passport / ID card.

5. Application.

6. Passport photos size 4.5 / 3.5 cm. - 6 pcs.

The documents referred to in points 1, 2 and 3 shall be:

• notarized copies;
• certified according to international requirements:
     - for the countries with which Bulgaria has a contract for mutual legal assistance, which concerns the certification of documents, the requirements of the contract apply;
     - for the member states of the Hague Convention the documents are certified with the Apostille stamp;
     - for all other countries the specified documents must be certified by the Ministry of Education (and / or the Ministry of Health), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country where the applicant is from and the consulate of the Republic of Bulgaria in the respective country.
• translated into Bulgarian with legalized translation in Bulgaria. The translated documents should be sent for certification of the translator's signature to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

1. The candidate-student sends scanned copies of the documents to the Directorate "Educational activity, quality of education and accreditation" of UTP to the address m.penkova@utp.bg for preliminary examination. All pages of documents, including stamps, are scanned.

2. An employee of the Directorate "Educational activity, quality of training and accreditation" of UTP gets acquainted with the documents and contacts the candidate.

3. After approval of the documents by the Directorate "Educational activity, quality of training and accreditation" of VUTP the applicant prepares the whole package of documents and sends them by mail in original to the address:

4. After receiving the original documents, an employee of the Directorate "Educational Activity, Quality of Training and Accreditation" of UTP submits the documents for approval to the Ministry of Education and Science. The term for reviewing the documents and receiving a response from the Ministry of Education and Science is from two weeks to one month.

4.1. In case of a positive resolution of the application, the Ministry of Education and Science issues a certificate required when applying for a type D visa

4.2. In case omissions in the documents of the candidate-student are found in the Ministry of Education and Science, an official letter is received at the UTP, motivating the refusal to issue a certificate. When the omissions concern the lack of a certain document or incorrect certifications, the candidate-student has the opportunity to correct his / her documents and submit them for reconsideration even after the expiration of the application period.

5. After receiving the approval from the Ministry of Education and Science, an employee of the Directorate "Educational activity, quality of training and accreditation" of UTP issues and signs a certificate confirming that the candidate has been accepted for training in the chosen specialty.

6. An employee of the Directorate "Educational activity, quality of training and accreditation" of UTP sends to the applicant in original the following documents, necessary for the applicant when submitting an application for visa type D:

• Certificate from the Ministry of Education and Science;
• Certificate from the Directorate "Educational activity, quality of training and accreditation" of UTP

7. The candidate-student submits a personal application for issuance of type D visa in the diplomatic or consular missions of the Republic of Bulgaria in his own country.

8. The candidate-student pays a tuition fee to the following bank account:

The admission of foreign students from non-EU and EEA countries is determined by the student's documents.

The candidate-student must meet the following requirements:

The candidate-student must certify that he/she is fluent in the Bulgarian language* through: A document of proficiency in the Bulgarian language (or the relevant foreign language for programs with foreign language teaching) at level B2 according to the Common European Language Framework, issued by a higher school in R Bulgaria, or another internationally recognized certificate of proficiency in the relevant foreign language - for candidates who will not take a language and specialized training course.
